Ightham has a large recreation ground with a children’s park, a fotball pitch and tennis courts. The local football club has its home ground here and there is a pavilion with facilities for changing, showers and toilets. There are also two all-weather tennis courts with flood lighting and a club house. There is a picturesque cricket ground which is located on Tonbridge Road.
There are many sports clubs in Ightham including football, tennis, cricket, badminton and karate.
Ightham Football Club runs a team in the Sevenoaks District League which enters various Cup Competitions during the season. All games are played on Saturdays. The home ground is at the Recreation Ground.

ITC was founded in 1982 around the new public courts in the recreation ground. This is a friendly village tennis club with two all-weather courts with flood lighting and a club house. Activities include inter-village matches, club championships, adult and junior coaching, summer men’s and ladies’ league, club evenings and American Tournaments.
