Lived experience representatives wanted in KCC adult social care
Do you have experience of drawing on adult social care and support, or do you have unpaid caring responsibilities for another adult?
We are currently looking for people like you to join others in being lived experience representatives. Our representatives are involved in our ongoing range of Adult Social Care and Health work and bring the voice of the person to the table. Adult social care encompasses services such as home care, residential care, assistive technology, carer support, enablement and sensory help.
Projects in the past have focused on our strategies, technology, processes, commissioning as well as our information and communication materials.
Time commitment will differ depending on the area of work, however, would usually consist of regular monthly meetings for a duration of 2 hours over a period of 6-12 months. There is flexibility for online or face-to-face meetings and reimbursement of time will be offered.
Location: Online participation with some attendance at in-person meetings in Maidstone.
Role duration: These are non-employee voluntary roles for an initial 6-month period.
How to register your interest
These roles are part of our plan to engage multiple people to ensure that we are representing the views of people with lived experience of care and support, and unpaid carers. We welcome people of all backgrounds, levels of experience and different areas in Kent to be involved.
If you are interested in taking part, please email makingadifference@kent.gov.uk with a short statement about why you would like to get involved, your area of Kent and any lived experience you have in a maximum of 500 words. If you would like to do this in a different format please let us know.
Please note that this is non-employee voluntary agreement that offers reimbursement for time and expenses and (i.e. not a formal salary or contract of employment). These opportunities are co-production and engagement opportunities and are not part of a formal public consultation unless stated otherwise.
